Mike Blakley is a recognized speaker and lecturer on various topics at both national conferences of the IIA as well as local and regional meetings of the IIA and the ACFE. With over 27 years of practical experience in planning and conducting IT audits, Mike recognized a widespread need to equip rank and file auditors with essential statistical tools to perform their work.
In 2005, Mike founded EZ-R Stats, LLC . The goal of EZ-R Stats, LLC is to make user-friendly statistical software and application knowledge available to both IT and non-IT auditors that provides the following benefits:
- comprehensive, yet easy to use
- efficient and effective IT audit planning/conducting
- provides graphical displays to facilitate planning and analysis
- works with the most commonly used data formats such as Excel and Access.
Mike began his career with Deloitte, supporting and using the AUDITAPE system to perform CMA sampling at a variety of Saving & Loan Associations, Banks, Utilities, Wholesalers and Government agencies. His 27 years of experience in information technology auditing include five years with public accounting firms, international work with a global petrochemical company, domestic work with governments, electric utilities and savings and loan associations. Mike’s IT experience ranges from audits of large IBM mainframe systems using CICS, DB2, IMS to mid-range Unix boxes as well as LANS.
He has also developed and implemented Oracle database systems using stored procedures and possesses extensive experience with MySQL and PHP in a web based environment.
